The context
This initiative was born from a collaboration between Tiwis and Daito Design, based on identified needs within the offshore oil industry, particularly in the search for underwater deposits. These operations are heavy and complex, and information regarding their progress is often of poor quality.
This research project allowed us to develop a complete POC that was funded, tested, and validated by a major player in the sector.
Objectives
- Provide better visibility for maritime operations managers in the office
- Facilitate communication between onshore and offshore teams
- Accelerate decision-making and technical support
- Reduce downtime and maintenance costs
What we've done
- Identifying the needs of engineers and onshore/offshore operational teams (interviews and field process studies)
- Defining and designing visualization, reporting, and communication modules
- Managing and structuring AIS and project navigation data provided by the client
- Developing a POC application using real data provided by the client
